The PTFE bands (PTFE also better known as Teflon) are placed over the welding wire and prevent the hot polymer from sticking to the welding jaws during the welding process.
The anti-stick effect of the Teflon begins to degrade after around 2000 welds.
In order to maintain the quality of the welds, the two bands must be replaced. The replacement can be carried out very easily by yourself.
